"I wanted to share a personal reflection with you, stemming from a conversation I had early in my career. For those of you who know me, and even for those I haven't had the pleasure of working with yet, I was asked why I book flights and why I'm so passionate about it.
It's an easy question to answer. I know many of you might view flights as a hassle or even risky. However, I believe we are in a business where we create magic. We have the privilege of assisting clients who may have saved their entire lives for a trip they've entrusted to us. This could be a honeymoon, a family vacation with grandchildren, or even a final journey. What an incredibly special and privileged position to be in.
For me, it all begins with the flight. Airports are truly amazing places for people-watching – observing reunions after years apart or witnessing someone's first arrival in a new country. That initial flight marks the beginning of a lifetime adventure. The excitement of preparing, packing, getting a boarding pass, even the scent of a passport – these are the reasons I love booking flights. While financial gain is certainly a benefit, the immense joy of being involved in a client's journey from start to finish, and ensuring their care throughout, is equally rewarding.

It is my pleasure to provide a reference for Ray. I have worked with her many times on my travels in Africa as well as elsewhere. Specifically South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania 2x, Rwanda, and Egypt to list a few.
Not only is she wonderful but she literally is available 24/7.
Let me give a few specific examples. My wife and I took 2 sons, their wives, and 4 grandchildren to South Africa after the pandemic. Or so we thought. Just days before leaving South Africa went into a pseudo lock down and we decided to move forward. My wife and I were in the UAE at the time and the rest were flying from NYC. The day of their flight after hours and hours of delay it was cancelled. Immediately Ray got working on rebooking flights. One daughter in law was sure it was Covid related and Called exhausted and in tears saying she could not go. I agreed with Rhay (I call her Rhay) and we did not cancel her flight, there was nothing to be gained at that point and the cancellation was due to weather issues in Chicago. An hour before she reconsidered and everyone arrived safe and happy on a flight rebooked for me by Ray.
In SA leaving and amazing few days on safari we were heading to Joberg to fly to capetown. About a 4 hour drive. Known only to me the local flight was cancelled as we were heading to airport. I called Ray and she was on it. In no time we had a new flight and time was short as this flight was a bit earlier. I kept quiet, no one stressed and we all boarded a different flight without missing a beat. What a peace of mind having her on my side. Just in January my wife and I were in Tanzania and flying youngest son and daughter out via KLM. On day of flight KLM had issues at hub and flight cancelled. Ray worked hard to find a new, very complicated, flight plan and the kids arrived on time without missing anything. (I usually plan a day in town acclimating to time zone change before going on the expensive part of trip so I have a day to play with). So they should have arrived the night before but arrived early in AM for start of safari.
She is kind, funny and will get up in the middle of the night to help if required so you can enjoy what you paid for and not stress over some glitch in schedule. Can’t say enough.
